What is processed

The link you submit is sent to its source platform to retrieve publicly available media. Temporary media and basic metadata are stored to provide preview, trimming, and download features. The application does not store your source URL in file metadata and does not require an account.

Temporary storage

Media links expire after 30 minutes. Scheduled cleanup deletes expired files, normally within the next five minutes. Failed processing files are removed automatically or during cleanup. A random file link acts as a temporary access key; anyone you share it with may be able to access the file until it expires.

Cookies and request information

A necessary session cookie protects processing requests against forgery. The application keeps a hash of your IP address temporarily for rate limiting. Hosting infrastructure may separately log IP addresses, request paths, and errors according to the operator’s retention settings. Media links can appear in those request logs. No advertising, analytics, or third-party font requests are included in this application.

Third parties

Retrieving a link sends a request to the source platform and its media CDN. Those services and the hosting provider apply their own privacy practices. Clipnest never asks for your social media password or platform cookies.
